How does an ozone generator work?

An ozone generator works by drawing in air and using electrical discharges to convert it into the naturally sanitizing gas, ozone (O3).

By placing the ozone generator inside your car or van, the ozone gas released is able to penetrate and disinfect every part of the vehicles interior, including the fibres of the upholstery and the air vents at a much deeper level than other commonly used disinfectant treatments.

This means all those hard-to-get-rid-of smells, bacteria or viruses trapped inside the air vents, carpets or seat coverings, are easily dispersed and destroyed, leaving your car ultra-cleansed, and with a pure scent, similar to the smell you’d notice after a thunderstorm.

1. What is ozone?

Ozone is oxygen in another form. It’s created by a molecular reaction between the sun’s powerful ultraviolet light and the oxygen naturally present in the stratosphere. This same molecular reaction is reproduced by an ozone generator, using electrical discharges instead of ultraviolet light.

2. How does ozone destroy viruses?

Once the ozone gas comes into contact with viruses and other pathogens, such as the flu virus or SARS coronavirus, it has the ability to break through the outer layer of virus’s individual cells, therefore destroying the virus at a molecular level via a natural chemical reaction.

3. Is ozone harmful to humans?
